Karyn was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC, and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1994. Karyn joined the firm as an intern in 1997 and graduated from the University of South Carolina - Upstate in 1998. Karyn is a licensed CPA in South Carolina, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
While at Halliday, Schwartz & Co., she has gained extensive technical accounting and auditing experience while working on private company assurance engagements in manufacturing, service and construction industries, local governmental entities, and employee benefit plans, as well as corporate and individual taxation.
Karyn is a 2011 graduate of Leadership South Carolina and a 2015 graduate of Leadership Spartanburg. She was a past member of the Spartanburg County First Steps Board of Directors, and currently serves as the Treasurer of Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg, Inc. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and staying active.
